Eva Moral & Martín Berchesi
Eva Moral is a Toyota Team member composed by Carolina Marín, Martín de la Puente y Niko Sherazadishvili. All of them are heading together to Tokyo Olympics Games 2020.
Since she was a child, Eva love running, swimming and cycling with her brother. And in a few times started to practice triathlon. Unfortunately, during a cycling race, she suffered an accident, losing control of her bike and falling down for more than seven meters in a cliff. Because of this situation, at her 31’s, the doctors told her that she would not able to walk anymore.
During the months spent in the hospital, she was gradually focusing that she won´t stop her sport life completely, and as soon as possible she would like to continue her cycling trainings. Not so much time after, she became 1st place in the Spanish Handbike Championships.
Her main idea “Never Give Up”, helped her to keep going on her passion: Triathlon.
Actually, in the list of her achievements, the most important are the 1st place in the European and world Paralympic championships, and today is the current Spain and Europe Paralympic champion in Triathlon and Handbike.
In this edition she is also introduced us as an ambassador along with the athlete Martín Berchesi.
Represent Sunrise Medical Team Quickie and repeat as MHT by Toyota ambassador supporting the organization team with technical advice. He was born in Uruguay where he learned the importance of practicing sports.
Since he was a teenager spent a lot of time practicing swimming, basketball and cycling. He moved to Spain when he was very young looking for a better life. The 2007 summer, he suffered a motorbike accident, that forced him to spend a lot of time in the hospital.
His strong character and his ability to overcome adversities, just like the Phoenix bird drawn on his back, promoted him to continue fighting for everything he wanted. His started playing some basketball leagues in Futbol Club Barcelona and Joventut de Badalona, but soon, discovered the adapted cycling, by the hand of Nani Roma that invited him to participate in a Duathlon race.
From that moment, changed the wheelchair for a handbike. Today is the current Spain Champion of route, team relay and time trial. In the other hand achieved several Top Ten places in the 2014 and 2016 World Cups.
